Guest guest
Hi folks, Someone asked me this question privately, about how message replies on SFBAVEG work, and I thought perhaps there might be others wondering so thought I'd address the question here. Replying to messages from SFBAVEG depends on how you read the messages to start with. There are 3 different flavors: 1) you receive individual messages 2) you receive digest messages 3) you have a ID and look at messages in the archives So, replying in each of these situations is as follows: 1) you receive individual messages On the SFBAVEG list, the " default " for " reply " to is only to the individual who sent the message. If you select " reply all " , then it goes to the individual who sent the message AND to the list. FYI, common list etiquette is to send only replies of general interest back to the list. (Note -- the 'default' reply feature can vary on different list. Some list owners have it set so default reply is to the entire list. On SFBAVEG, default reply is to the individual.) 2) you receive digest messages To avoid sending the entire digest back to the list, we ask that you cut/paste (or copy) the relevant portion of the email to a new message and send it to the list. 3) you have a ID and look at messages in the archives the online archives interface gives you 3 options when replying: to the individual who sent the message, to the list as a whole, and to the list owners. Here are the email addresses: Post message to SFBAVEG: sfBAVeg Send message only to List admins: sfBAVeg-owner (Chris, Kim, and myself) Also, please note that there is an email address called ; this is just a personal email that's only sporadically checked. Messages sent to that email do not get published to the mailing list. Hope that clarifies for everyone! Cheers, Tammy Bay Area Vegetarians....
