Guest guest
I am in no way associated with Scott's Seafood and have not tried this dish. But if the dish at Scott's is as good as Sparks vegan shrimp, it will be well worth the drive from SF!! Dear PETA Member: There's something " fishy " on the menu of Scott's Seafood Grill & Bar in Sacramento and Folsom, Calif. At PETA's request, Chef David Lamonica has created an outstanding faux-fish dish, Char-Grilled Vegan Prawns, that is winning raves from vegans and meat-eaters alike. Yes, it's a fish restaurant, but now it's not only a fish restaurant! And people who would never think about eating a vegetarian meal are going to see faux shrimp on the menu. " We're always trying to please our market, " says Chef David. A dinner entrée, Scott's Char-Grilled Vegan Prawns are served over black rice with organic micro greens, sweet-and-sour glaze, and fruit compote. Please consider making a date to taste this great veggie " seafood, " which a recent visitor called " awesome " and " moist, firm, and rich. " Please be sure to offer your congratulations to Chef David, who works in the Folsom restaurant, or to the manager at the Sacramento location. As a traditional seafood restaurant, Scott's deserves kudos for exploring vegan cuisine. This is a breakthrough for mainstreaming vegan foods into unexpected places! If the faux prawns are popular at these two locations, as well as a new location opening soon at the Marriott in southern Sacramento, they may show up on the menus at all Scott's locations—nine in Northern California. You can spread the word, eat there, and make this a reality. For more information and directions, click on www.scottsseafood.net, and look for Scott's on PETAEats.com in October to learn how to make your own " mock " masterpiece. Very truly yours, Ingrid E.
