KPFK, the listener sponsored " Pacifica " radio station in Los Angeles has

introduced a show dealing with animal rights issues. It is airing, today and

for two more weeks, on Fridays at 2pm Pacific (5pm Eastern.) The station

broadcasts throughout Los Angeles and all the way down to San Diego on 90.7

FM, and up in Santa Barbara on 98.7. And you can listen, anywhere, on the

web at: http://www.KPFK.org

 

This is on the front page of the station's website:

 

" KPFK is pleased to announce a special 4-part series on Animal Rights airing

on Fridays, September 12 to October 3 at 2pm.

 

" Future shows will explore the laws and regulations that govern the use of

animals in entertainment, the food industry, and the medical field, and

resent alternatives to their use and exploitation.

 

" Tune in on Friday at 2pm "

 

Last Friday, Peter Singer and Ingrid Newkirk were guests.

 

Today's guests are:

 

PCRM's Chad Sandusky, a former EPA toxicologist discussing the promotion of

alternatives to animal testing.

 

Chris DeRose, founder of Last Chance for Animals, on B class dealers.

 

Steve Ann Chambers, from the Animal Legal Defense Fund, on legal rights for

nonhuman animals.

 

And Bruce Mate from the Marine Mammal Program at Oregon State University.

 

The producers of the show would like it to be permanent, not just for four

weeks. Positive feedback will make that much more likely. Listen if you can,
