Guest guest
All, I heard a guy telling someone else about a squirrel problem that his parents are having (his parents are in their early-eighties, by the way)...Anyway, apparently they have some sort of orchard in back of their house where they grow some sort of nuts. Apparently the squirrels are naturally cashing in on this opportunity...They are eating almost all of what is grown. Anyway, he went on to say that to control this problem, they are capturing the squirrels in traps and then drowning them!!!!! When I spoke up, he said what else can they do? I wasn't ready with a feasible response, and this is why I'm sending out this cry for help. Since I heard of this, I can't get it out of my mind, that everyday that goes by, more little squirrels are being trapped and murdered. This is in Sacramento, by the way. I live in southern California. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there an organization in Sacramento that maybe could volunteer to empty the traps daily, and set the squirrels free somewhere safe and comfortable for both the squirrels and humans. Please let me know....I have never thought about this aspect in our fight against cruelty.... Please reply to me directly with any suggestions/thoughts...... Thank you all so much for your time and for reading this long note..... By the way someone sent a nice quote in a message, It said something like: The morality of a nation is judged best by how the people treat their animals.....Can someone resend that quote? It was very nice, and true. Thanks again, Farah
