Guest guest
I just had an interesting email exchange with the 'founder' of truthout.org, William Rivers Pitt, that ended with him sending me this message: PETA = " People Eating Tasty Animals " He wrote an editorial slamming Bush, but began it by saying that he watched Bush's speech over a plate of meatloaf. I emailed him that he didn't need to share that fact with us and asked him to think about animal suffering, etc. etc. I assumed that he was a progressive and was open to a little prodding. I guess not. Just thought I would share this with the list in case there were others out there who were fans of the site. Cheers, Randy

Thanks very much for letting us know about this. I am opposed to the Bush administration's stance on just about every issue and get emails from truthout.org (among others). This is very disappointing, but not surprising except for the nasty tone. It would be bad enough if Pitt said " I respectfully disagree and think that humans are meant to eat animals " (what most people believe), but for him to be cruel and indifferent to animals' plight is worse. Thanks again. Stephanie
