Guest guest
Hello, everybody, My name is Trisha and I am a student at California State University, Hayward. Last nite I found a newborn kitten (only a few days old, with eyes still shut) abandoned on a hill. I figured he rolled down the hill from a litter, so I searched for hours and only found another kitten, dead, covered with ants. This kitten that was still alive was very healthy, meowing for distress. I would have left him in hopes of a mother returning, only there are coyotes all over that hill (near the university)... I have taken him in. He seems very healthy, very active, and very cute. I have bottle fed him for the last day with kitten formula. I took him around to several shelters and humane societies, and called even more, and have been told the same thing: kittens that young will be put to sleep if they are turned in, as they need to be bottle fed and cared for often, for the first few weeks. I refuse to sentence him to death. The bigger problem comes in because I live in University housing, with three other roommates. There is a strict no pet policy enforced. I don't know how much longer I can keep him here, secretly, before housing or my roommates find out. As well, my final examinations are through this week, and I cannot give him frequent care for much longer. I know this is unusual, but I am sending a call out to anyone who would like to dedicate some time and love to this brave little kitten. He is light gray, and as I have said, has yet to open his eyes. He needs a good home. I will donate the bottles for his food, some kitten formula, and his little basket to anyone who has the heart to take him in. Please respond to this email as soon as possible if you are interested in taking him in. I will make arrangements to get the kitten to you, if needed. Thank you all for your time, and have a good day! -Best! Trisha

Guest guest
In case you are still looking, I've been told to call the Animal Control Dept. in Hayward and ask for the Volunteer Coordinator, who may be able to hook you up w/ volunteer foster pet-parents.
