ACTIVISM FORUM

 

New College

A special collaborative Activism Forum of We The Planet and Power To

The

Peaceful

 

This is a special event to discuss in depth some of the concepts and

issues

raised at the We The Planet festival of April 20th, 2003 and the

upcoming

5th annual 911/Power To The Peaceful festival happening at Speedway

Meadow

(Golden Gate Park) on Saturday, April 6th, 2003.

The audience will have an opportunity to join in the discussion

which will

be around global issues such as militarism; corporatization; social

justice

and environmental struggles; grass roots activism; how they are

related to

each other and relevant to our daily lives.

 

Panelists: Julia Butterfly Hill / Author and Activist

 

Michael Franti / Musician, Human Rights Worker, PTTP Producer

 

Van Jones / Human Rights Activist, Ella Baker Center for Human Rights

 

Gloria La Riva / Social Justice Activist, Int'l

A.N.S.W.E.R, Campaign to Free The Cuban 5

6 pm Activism Fair, in the New College Cultural Center

With many non-profits represented and offering ways to get informed

and involved

 

Plus " Guerilla Puppetry " by Cell Space puppeteers Dave Morley,

Jonathon

Yute & friends

 

8 pm Panel Discussion in the New College Theater

 

And, a special performance by Michael Franti
