Guest guest
Hey Fellow Veggies, I've attended and enjoyed the food and camaraderie at both BAV and veggie singles events, and would like to invite members of both groups to a get together out in San Rafael. I would like to host a small gathering of folks who like tennis, or badminton, or swimming, or Ping-Pong, or putting golf balls, or lying in a hammock, or soaking in a hot tub for a casual dinner party. In the backyard, other than those things already mentioned, various lettuces, basil and glorious tomatoes grow, and I¹m thinking of pasta with a tomato and avocado sauce, with an additional choice of pesto. Both come from John Robbins¹ book, May All Be Fed, and are yummy. Those with special needs should bring their own preferred pasta. We'll have snacks to hold us over until dinner. I¹ve always enjoyed cooking with others and think arriving in the early afternoon to enjoy the sun and amenities then sharing the cooking and cleaning chores sounds fun. Any desert mavens would be welcome to either bring or make on site their wonderful concoctions. Also, any info on vegan wine would be appreciated, even more so if we could drink some. As at all such events, all food will be the most common denominator: vegan. Anyone desiring beer should bring some. I heard Budweiser is vegan, but I¹d like to learn of any others, some with taste. It¹s in San Rafael; more specifics will follow to those who RSVP. I¹m thinking the maximum is about twelve people. Arrive at 2 pm, dinner around 7 ish, but I'm flexible. If folks want to eat earlier, that's fine with me. If interested, bring some board games, but if Alex comes, bring your best charades topics. Tammy and Chris have already RSVP¹d their intention to attend. I will purchase all necessary ingredients for dinner and divide by the number of guests, but it will be inexpensive, since mostly everything grows in the backyard. Those bringing wine or dessert will have their costs shared also. (If you don¹t drink it, you won¹t pay for it.) For those who are available THIS weekend and can make it on short notice, we could additionally do something this weekend as well. Carpool if you can via http://www.generationv.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=23 but Golden Gate Transit stops about 5 minutes walk away. I'll find the bus number if necessary. If you play tennis, please mention it in your response. Aloha, Bill
