Guest guest
Likewise, regarding the message below: a vegan friend of mine inquired at Golden Lotus about a month ago, what the ingredients are in their fake meat. I don't recall exactly which ones, but the patient waiter took the time to review ingredients labels and returned with the news that one of the common ingredients is whey. He also stated that they claim to be a vegetarian restaurant, not a vegan one. Guess this is case of vegan caveat emptor (I probably butchered the spelling). Guest guest
I just spoke to Nancy, manager of Golden Era, on the phone. She confirmed that the veggie ham is not vegan and that she cannot guarantee that it will be in the future because it is made by so many different manufacturers in Taiwan and some are and some are not vegan. However, to avoid it, just do not order in Golden Era or Golden Lotus any dish that lists " soy protein " in the description on the menu - or ask for a substitution. She told me that the other veggie meats are vegan. - Marcy Greenhut sfBAVeg Saturday, July 19, 2003 1:41 PM [sfBAVeg] Not only the ham Likewise, regarding the message below: a vegan friend of mine inquired at Golden Lotus about a month ago, what the ingredients are in their fake meat.
