Guest guest
Another notable no-show was David Wolfe...and he won a Golden Branch award! He sent in his acceptance speech, delivered by Gabriel. I took in one of Gabriel's two talks, where he discussed his Rainbow Green diet, complete with slide show. He announced this will be the last year he attends the festival, as his commitments at " the Tree " are taking all his time. It sounds like his retreat center is really doing well. I also took in Rozi Graham (Roz and Doug Graham are newlyweds-- July 2) talk and workshop (same time as Gabriel's Spiritual Nutrition talk). Her topic was about raw emotions...and a very interesting workshop followed. Yes, the venue was disappointing-- 86 degrees I was told, on Friday. Around 6pm Saturday, the rains started. ugh. That wasn't good for the fesetival. A few die-hards stuck it out on Sunday. The reason the food booths were scarce this year was because the health department in Washington County charged $150 PER vendor, VS $10 for the entire lot of them in previous years! Tooo bad! Amy's Raw Goddess Chocolate was to live for! Yes, the puking contest was a bit much, but there I sat. I HAD to find out if the arrogance and goading of Jameth would win out. Actually, I was rooting for his partner, Mike. I really thought Mike had it. Oh well. It took so long for that poor juicer (and Orion-- YEA!!! for RED hands-- let's hear it for Orion and Shanti's support) to provide juice for 9 contestants, I think that gave them all time to let the juice settle in between shots. Who knows. Rumor has it that next year, they will have gallons of wheat grass already prepared, and the contestants will chug one glass after another until somebody bows out! I vote for holding the festival at Horning's Hideout, 35 min. west of Portland, outside North Plains, OR-- just 15-25 min. northwest of this location. Dancing Dragons held their event there last weekend and got rained out too...but they still had some attendance. A music festival in the forest...with CAMPING! woo hoo. Ok. Let's hear from other's experience at the festival.
