Guest guest
For those of you who travel east on occasion (specifically NYC) and have not heard of Pure Food & Wine, here is a June article on the raw restaurant. I didn't get to eat there when I was in NY in June, but have heard great things about it (except the cost!) I did get to eat at two of the quintescence restaurants which were very good. Bonobo's was closed on the day I could have gone there. I'm glad to see new raw restaurants opening around the country. I've also learned of new ones in Cincinnati, Cleveland and LA. I recently ate at raw restaurants in Chicago and Minneapolis, which nicely broke up my long drive! Raw food is going glam at Pure Food & Wine, the first restaurant from Mediterranean whiz kid Matthew Kenney (Matthew's, Monzu, Commune) since Comissary. Super-fit celebs like Woody Harrelson, Sting, Madonna, and Uma Thurman swear by it, but gourmands have shied away from the seemingly austere regimen of vegetables, seeds, and sprouted grains heated to only 118 degrees.
