Guest guest
Good evening, I just returned from the Living Now! festival in NY state. This was my first raw festival and a wonderful event on all accounts. Jeff Rogers was there with a vendor booth for Vice Cream and Soystache so I felt comfortable knowing I would see a friend there. I rode up with a local woman who had just gone off the raw diet because of problems, and decided to go back on after finding the solution only a few days earlier. I don't have much time to give details, but I must say that in spite of rains of biblical magnitude this was the most positive and uplifting group of people I have ever had the pleasure of being with. I found many common interests among the other attendees besides food - as this was a lifestyle conference and not strictly a food event. Besides the lectures on diet and health there was a sweat lodge, exercise, yoga, relationship discussions, womens' issues - all in a beautiful pastoral campground run by a raw food environmentalist family. Rain kept the attendance low, no more than a few hundred people - but this also kept it intimate. Today (Sunday) the weather cleared and everything went off beautifully. I attended a yoga session that just had me buzzing! Also found many activists interested in discussing human power. I had my recumbent bike there and that created a sensation. They've agreed to let me give a lecture next year on raw transportation - those with motors that operate at less than 115 deg F.
