She has seen me in person, but probably wouldn't connect my name with that faint memory. I would say I'm pretty healthy, and look so. Those of you who know me, wouldn't you say the same? I have been vegan for most of my life, over 15 years easily. There are many other long-time vegans, 100% raw and otherwise, who I would say are pretty healthy too, relatively speaking, and look it. I don't believe it's the veganism that leads to non-optimal health in particular cases. There are so many other factors that are part of health. So many people connect their health issues to diet when so many other factors could be contributing: nutrient quality of food (not merely that it's vegan), exercise, rest, air, water, sunshine, emotional stability, social interaction, stress, play/fun, etc. etc. etc. There's also the part about what one given person thinks/believes is " healthy " or what that looks like. That can be pretty messed up as well, in certain cases.
