Guest guest
Howdy folks! We at Livin' Spoonful have been overwhelmed by the turn out at Madison Market since they began carrying our products. For those who don't know, we also offer distribution of all of the other raw products made in Portland including Smart Monkey Foods, True Nature (guacamole & salsa) Dr. John's VitaCrisp Crackers, and It's Alive! (cultured vegetables). For those of you who have shown up on Saturday to find the shelves empty, we offer our apologies and our thanks for being patient. We are able to provide these products at something resembling affordable prices because we use a non-traditional distribution path that is way cheap compared to the usual way of getting things done. Next on our radar is PCC. I see by Nora's posting that they are aware and responsive to the raw community. In the past, I approached them and was politely told that they would lose money trying to carry our hummus. We feel we've reached a critical mass now, with 18 different products to offer, and will be calling them soon. We'd appreciate any suggestions concerning PCC, where raw fooders like to shop, etc. One last thing, the buyer at Madison Market is really good to work with. His name is Tim Zerkel, and he has been very supportive and flexible. As a vendor, I've has some less than respectful interactions with buyers, but Tim and his crew have been nothing less than great to work with. Please share the love if and when you communicate with Madison Market as they have invested a lot of time and money to support all fo us. Peace, Jim
