Guest guest
Hi Nick, Thanks for all of the contribution re alternative energy vehicles. I'm sure that alot of folks are finding them useful. I also appreciate your concern that information be passed on in an honest and sincere manner. I do however take issue with your request for a contributor to a very 'hot topic' not to use sarcasm or exaggeration. Saracasm and exaggeration are useful and legitimate linguistic tools for getting one's point across. As long as contributors are not harming or defaming anyone I do not believe that they should be censored from expressing themselves as he or she sees fit. The sarcastic reply to Nora or Robert's or whoever's exaggerated diatribe was quite appropriate and was not personally disrespectful. With the goal of faciltating honest and open communication in our e-group I ask that we allow others to fully and respectfully express themselves even if they use a literary technique that does not appeal to you. Guest guest
Bruce, Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for expressing your concern about the list etiquette. I apologize if I came across too harshly, my patience is rather short for people that talk without saying anything kind, thoughtful or helpful. My point was that I didn't think this guy had a point, and he emailed me privately to concede as much. It may or may not be my place to comment on it since I'm not there, but I personally still believe in the old saying that if you don't have something nice to say you shouldn't say anything until you do. And I didn't say Mark couldn't say anything, I asked - and I suggested what I think would be better. Whatever else you'd like me to do that you think would be better - let me know.
