Guest guest
Hi Ron, I'm curious about EPA and DHA. Some people say our body makes them from the plant omega-3's, such as flax and hemp seeds. Do you ever eat purslane for EPA? I searched for it in the stores but didn't see any. In a recent interview with David Wolfe published on www.rawguru.com, David said he eats " DHA algae-oil " . In " Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine " , page 43, Dr. Cousens writes " The one long-chain omega-3 fatty acid that is not available in a concentrated form is EPA (eicosapentanoic acid). For healthy vegans it is available in herbs such as purslane. For extreme metabolic situations such as manic depression, it is not available in commercial concentrated vegan form and must be obtained through fish oil. " http://www.fredericpatenaude.com/interview-nazariah.html " An Interview with Nazariah By Frederic Patenaude .... And then, they discovered as recently as one year ago that there's a long-chain fatty acid, which is really important to the brain and is not found in any vegan source of food. Then about a month ago, Gabriel Cousens said that this long chain fatty acid, called EPA, is present in this kind of wild plant called purslane. But hardly anybody knows that in the vegan movement, because that just got discovered a month ago. And most of them don't know that they're even missing this long-chain fatty acid. ... " Thanks!
