Guest guest
Hi Raw Seattle! I am new to this group and hope I figure out this thing. I am searching for a place in Seattle where I can find raw coconut meat and/or MSN. I was getting the MSN at The Herbalist, but they have changed to a lower grade powder msn and are charging a ridiculous $2.75 an ounce. Any ideas out there? Does anyone think a small raw shop would work in Seattle? I am thinking of someplace that would carry an inventory of some of the harder to find products like the ones I am looking for. It would be great not to have to pay ridiculous prices plus shipping for the products I use. Any thoughts on that? Thanks! cctux
Guest guest
If you live in the Seattle area, PCC, Whole Foods, and Madison Market all sell whole coconuts. I believe you are talking about MSM, not MSN. MSM is abundant in all raw foods and you shouldn't need to supplement if you are eating lots of raw food. Any health food store that carries vitamins should sell it. Probably the cheapest place to get it would be Super Supplements, which is located throughout the Puget Sound area - http://www.supersup.com/locations.htm or mail order from them at 1-800-249-9394. The web also has coupons for this place at http://www.thesurvivalkit.com/sssuplem.htm MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is one of the nutrients that those who eat mostly cooked food miss out on. I tried taking it as a supplement a few years ago and found that my hair and nails grew faster, as this is where the body uses sulphur the most. I read that it is present in all raw foods and decided to save money and get it in its natural source. The stores do a good job in special ordering products, so I doubt that opening a raw shop would save much, unless the product could be ordered in bulk.
