Chlorine - HIGHLY TOXIC

Jeff, you're right about the chlorine. I looked up a MSDS (Material

Safety Data Sheet) on the Internet and it says under the Hazard

Summary Statement: WARNING! HIGHLY TOXIC. CORROSIVE. May be fatal

if inhaled. Strong oxidizer. ...

The OSHA ceiling is 1 ppm. In the acute symptoms of overexposure, it

lists bronchitis and accumulation of fluid in the lungs as a symptom

hours after exposure to high levels of chlorine. As I suspected it

is the fumes being inhaled that irritate the bronchials.

There was a place in Mexico years ago run by Dr. Donsbach (Hospital

Santa Monica) that used Hydrogen Peroxide to purify their swimming

pool water--I checked their web site and they still do. He advocates

using it internally to kill off candida, bacteria, and viruses, but

the stuff tastes horrible. (I tried it several years ago when I had

a candida problem.)

Ron,

Thanks for the research, I hadn't done that. I just noticed from my

own experiences. It's interesting to hear it from a documented source.

So, again... why is it we add toxins to the water we drink, swim and

bathe in???
