Wait a second though. A slight refinement on eating " salty things " : I've had certain foods that tasted salty without any salt having been added. The foods I can remember tasting salty are: the part of cantaloupe near the seeds, the flesh of other melons near their rind, the flesh of papaya near the skin, celery, and dried tomatoes.
