Guest guest
Friday, February 27, 2004 Dining: Raw diet trend finding way onto health-conscious tables Restaurants offer delectable dishes By Lori Pierce Abendschein For the Poughkeepsie Journal Gannett News Service Collard greens are a healthful part of a raw food diet, as are many other vegetables, grains and nuts. There's a cooking trend and it actually has nothing to do with cooking at all. Foods are served raw. That's right. No sauteing, frying, roasting or grilling. Dishes are prepared by juicing, dehydrating, blending, grinding, mixing and slicing. The raw food trend emerged during the mid 1990s as a style of preparation in which all ingredients are raw, organic and vegan (no fish, meat, eggs or dairy products), and nothing is heated above 118 degrees Fahrenheit. whole story: http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/today/lifeentertainment/stories/li022704s8.sh\ tml
