Guest guest
Hi everyone-- I have some ideas I'd like to share with you. Last year, when Victoria came in February, my February potluck was at it's largest attendance--- 40+ people! Wow, eh? That tells me that potlucks are an obvious means of support to new folks learning about raw foods. They are hungry/thirsty for the new information. How can we (new and old timers alike) provide this support on a consistent basis? Well? Let's have more potlucks! Over the next 90 days, wouldn't it be fabulous if there was at least one potluck scheduled for EVERY weekend? North end, south end, eastside, central....... AND for the oldtimers reading this, pull out all the stops for bringing delicious recipes for all to try! Sign up your potluck(s) on www.rawseattle.org now! The key to successfully maintaining a raw diet is support....support.....support. Victoria recommends finding a raw buddy. Perhaps if you are willing to be a raw buddy, you could find your buddy at a potluck! Also, another way to provide ongoing support is classes....classes....classes. Food prep classes for easy/simple just-getting-started food to exotic, fun, gourmet food....something for everybody. Stay tuned on this one. If anybody has handouts they could create with lists of raw resources, raw friendly restaurants in Seattle, lists of upcoming potluck locations, times, and dates-- please bring that along to potlucks you attend and share them. That's all for now. I will see some of you next Monday at the Cascade People's Center. I hope to see ALL of you the following Saturday at my hike/potluck. (Call first on the hike--- weather permitting) Let's show our new raw friends some rawsome hospitality! Peace and blessings, Linda
