Can anyone tell me more about the discounts offered at Central Market? How do

you

get the discount? On what items?

And also, where should I go for the best price on durian? :) I haven't looked

in the

Asian markets yet, maybe they're cheaper.

Thanks!

Talk to somebody in the produce section about the discounts. Audi is a

person I've been working with.

I buy my durian there as well. It's not the best price, but I think they

taste better than the ones that are cheaper in the International District

markets, and it saves me a trip into that part of Seattle.

Most of the staff in the produce section are able to help with the

discounts. You can ask what is available or ask for specific items

and they'll check for you. You can also put in orders for cases you

want, then you'll know it's worth the trip. Two things I get there

consistantly are young coconuts and organic spring mix. The spring

mix comes in 3 pound bags. They now have the bags all ready to go!

They are right next to the loose greens in the back of the store. You

can just grab them and go!

Their durians are most consistant in terms of quality. The Asian

markets are much cheaper, but ar possibly thawed, frozen, thawed,

frozen, etc. but I've never had a bad one. They seem to put out

frozen ones, which thaw during the day, so you can find frozen as

well as partially thawed durians.
