Thanks Janaki for your thoughtful email. Actually, I had intended to send my

email to Eric in private, but somehow, it went to the list. ....?? I was

asking him (and EVERYone) for feedback on the rawseattle website and what

features you might like to see. My sister Rose, spent about 12 hours on it

yesterday and it is really coming along! It looks fabulous! Maybe today, you

will see a link to it on her test-server.

 

Everyone-- Please look at the www.rawseattle.org website and UPDATE the

outdated information in an email to Rose at: rose

She would like to finish it today!

 

As for contributions-- here's the report---so far.

 

All the donations that were promised are not in yet, so I can't tell you how

much money has been raised. I will report to the group when I know. There

were TWO issues on the table, for $100 each.

1) web hosting fee with current web host

2) website facelift

 

1) We are still working out the details of hosting the website on my son's

server in my house...that will cost us nothing!

 

2) Rose normally charges $25/hour! She is spending much more time than she

thought--but wait till you see it! I think you will agree that it is well

worth more than tjhe original $100 she asked for. You may even decide it

would be worth collecting $$ on a monthly basis (at potlucks perhaps) to

retain her services, at about $50/month? That's the equivalent of only 2

hours each month of her time. She is simplifying the website so there will

be little or no need for volunteer updating, as the events will

automatically link to the calendar--for members to add their own

events. Same for photo uploads.

 

What is needed is input from the community. What kind of links and/or

categories would you like to see on the home page?
