Guest guest
Hi Eric, Would you be willing to pass the hat on Sunday (if you are going to Bruce's event) for the Rawseattle causes? Also, I would like to discuss with you what your visions are for the website. I know we've talked about this before. It seems like the website is sorely outdated, and the only thing current is the events....which can also be duplicated on the . My son, Kris can host the website on his server at my house, for free (or cheap). He won't have email capability, however. Do you see that as a problem? The website could probably provide a link to yours (or somebody's) email box, who is willing to monitor the website. If the website references a calendar, that link could go directly to the Calendar. They would be forced to sign up with , in order to read the events. Then, they are automatically signed up with the . Do you see any reason why this would be a bad thing or wouldn't work? A good thing? What are some things our website could be used for from your perspective? Thanks for your thoughts. We must act fast, as Christian thinks they will take our website down in the next 8-14 days. I'm thinking we may not need to renew our web hosting fee of $100. There are cheaper options out there, I'm told, plus there's always Kris. We can use the donations I'm getting toward the website facelift. We just need some direction! peace and blessings--Linda
Guest guest
Hi, Linda & all - I would be concerned if the events calendar was kept on . I have periodically had trouble remaining on - out of the blue, they will announce that messages sent to me are bouncing (-generated spam??), and will discontinue me from the . Then, they will send me another message to respond to, and a few days later they will reinstate me. In the meantime, I've missed out on topics being discussed. Plus, when I originally tried to sign up for the service, I never could get past their questions, because my field of work is not listed in their list, and when I tried to indicate " other " or whatever the option is, I would be sent back to the beginning. So that was a big exercise in futility and frustration!!
