Guest guest
Hi Ramona, I just want to let you know how much I admire your strength in staying raw while cooking for your family. I also would like to ask you how you manage to have such willpower to not only smell the cooked food but to actually prepare it and not be tempted to eat it? My husband and I were 100% raw for just short of 2 years but when my son moved back home for a short while we just couldn't take the smells of the cooked food and fell off the raw wagon. We have been struggling ever since to get back to 100% raw. Can you share with us any helpful thoughts on how you are managing to stay so focused? Thanks for any advise. Take care, Breezi
Guest guest
Breezi The choice I have made to change my lifestyle is my own. It is not determined by my family or anything else that affects me. Taking responsibility for my own pathway has had many challenges along the way but guidance has told me that it was the diligence of the effort that would see me through. My life style change (spiritual quest) had begun many years before I became raw, so I guess that when the time came for me to add being raw to my lifestyle, it was just like changing my hair style. I just did it and learned how to make it work. I know that addictions are a hard part for many people but I did not have that problem. As I reviewed my progress however, I discovered that I had been vegetarian, then vegan before I became raw so the transition was not difficult. During all these changes I learned to accept my family's choices and honor their own path. I can only teach them by example. When I cook I do not let myself think that they are eating unhealthy food. Instead I smile and enjoy the process of cooking for those I love. There is more healthy food available and I encourage them to enjoy it when ever possible but teenages have to discovery for themselves and I must allow that to happen even though at times I know it would be easier for them to do as I tell them. I have learned to rely on Spirit (my own inner voice) to guide me to the teachers and lessons that I would most benefit from. I take only what I need from all that I come in contact with and use what will help me on my path. I encourage others to do the same. What works for one may not work for another and there is nothing wrong with that. We each have a unique path to follow and as we follow it we bring many wonderful gifts to others by our examples. My Heart is always filled with joy to hear how each individual accomplishes their changes. I hope this brings you encouragement to continue with " diligent effort " .
