Talking about raw food

Aug 4, 2003

If you think this means just salads, you'll be in for a big surprise

With the growing awareness of health in the broader community, more

and more people are looking at specific options. Some are exploring

the virtues offered by such dietary regimes as that provided through

becoming a vegetarian, a vegan or even a fruitarian.

Thanks,

Jeff!

I always have

to chuckle at the inevitable disclaimer, “talk to your health adviser before

making any major dietary change”.

Right. How many people in

the general public call their doctors at 7 p.m. and say, “Hey, Doc, I’m going

to order a jumbo pizza with all the toppings and the stuffed crust

tonight. Then I’m going to eat the

whole thing, wash it down with a six-pack of Coke/beer, and watch TV all

night. Is that OK??” Maybe the pizza ads should have a

disclaimer on them as well, something like, “be sure to check with your health

provider about the wisdom of eating a diet high in saturated fats, calories,

cholesterol, salt, and watching TV all night so you’d see this ad in the first

place”! J
