Guest guest
For those (such as Jeff) who are looking to get a vehicle and not have to buy gas, there are alternative fuel vehicles out there. Generally, regular cars are gutted and fitted with electric motors and the batteries to run them. I sold an older car of mine back in 2001 to a person who was to convert it into an electric vehicle. Today I found the web site http://www.afvmarket.com which maintains an inventory of electric and hybrid cars available to sell. Seattle itself has an electric vehicle association which also sells electric vehicles. Their web site has lots of interesting information about the industry at http://slough1.home.mindspring.com/seva.html. Their motto is " To convert a gas car to electric, is the highest form of re- cycling.. " For those who would like to get something electric but already have a car, there are electric motorbikes available. The top speed allowed by law without having to register and license them is 30 MPH. I will post more on this later. We can make choices to reduce our dependence upon gasoline.
