Raw help for a hernia

Greetings, all ~

I received the below request from raw friends. Any suggestions?

<<Bill has learned that he has a hernia. It's an umbilical hernia.

Will you please post to any raw & other health-related

you're a part of to inquire about natural healing for these>>

If you've had experience with hernias or know someone who has and

you have some " raw " ideas, I know all recommendations would be

welcomed.

Thanks!

Annette

My husband and daughter have both had inguinal hernias and had the

surgeries to repair the areas. This all happened before I was raw but I

would like to say that they are both fine and had no problems with the

surgeries or recoveries. This may not be the information wanted but it is

an alternative aspect that I hope will be of help.

Looking through different URLs on the internet, they all agree that

the only way for a hernia to be cured is through surgery. A good

tutorial on hernias can be found at

http://www.hernia.org/whatsport.html.

That would be the " main stream " answer. A hernia is like a rupture. I

don't know how the body would heal itself of that. But, then again,

the body is capable of amazing things when given the chance. I wonder

what an extended water fast (w/complete rest, eyes closed, no work,

etc.) would do to it. Anyone have any knowledge of fasting on

hernia's? I had a near hernia (inguinal) a couple years ago. I wore a

brace for support, took it easy and eventually got back to

exercising, etc. while on a raw vegan diet. After some time, the

discomfort was all gone and I haven't had a problem since. It sounded

like (main stream thinking) typically it would always be prone to

problems after the first incident. Of course, raw foodists are not

typical!

My ex-boyfriend (vegan but not exclusively raw foods) had an inguinal hernia. He had it surgically repaired as an out-patient, healed remarkably fast w/very little pain, & a few days later was able to ride his bicycle.sturtevants <sturtevants wrote:
