Guest guest
Frankly, I think this whole obsession some people have with children tampering with their food is nuts! First of all, many adults aren't all that clean and " food-safety conscious " . Adults double dip and sneeze and don't wash their hands after they scratch their heads or pet their pets. I'll bet if you swabbed an adult and a child for anything dangerous, you wouldn't find a significant difference. Second of all, if you hang out in any public area, like a library couch or a bus seat or a park bench, you are also exposed to the germs of whatever adult, child, or animal has just been nearby. Third of all, I thought that most of you don't to the germ theory.
Guest guest
I was at the potluck at Eric's mom's house, I think on Sat. April 19th. I was not happy to see an adult double dip there. She took a spoonful from the tropical fruit Eric brought, ate it, then dipped her spoon back in the fruit. Also, I was not happy to see people (all adults) reaching into another plate of food with their hands. I think we all need to pay MORE attention to food safety, not less. Another thing that bothered me about that potluck was that about half the dishes were not labeled with their ingredients, so I had to go around asking folks who made what & what is in them. I have a food intolerance to tomatoes (raw or cooked) & would prefer to get this information quickly from label reading rather than having to be a detective. Guest guest
I agree with you that this isn't really a big issue. For those wanting ingredients labeled, that shouldn't be hard to do. I'll make sure I list the contents of my creations.
