Good evening,

Since no one else has mentioned it here I'd like to report that the class led by Spruce and hosted by Bruce at his (magnificent) home on Vashon Island last Sunday was wonderful in every possible way. About 15 people showed up for the class, primarily from Vashon, Seattle, Everett and some points south like Renton and Tacoma. The food was excellent beyond expectations, but the weather was excellent beyond belief. Bruce's home is on 5 acres at the south end of the island and is built and planted to be sustainable and spiritually uplifting.

Food included raw cinammon rolls with frosting, bagels with tomato "cream cheese" spread and Indian bread (I forgot what he called it). Not only was the food a treat, but since the weather was so nice we stayed around sitting on the front deck marveling at the gardens and forests and discussing some social issues. If anyone else would like to add their experiences to this message, please feel free.

If anyone else has contact info for Bruce (email or phone) please contact me (nick.hein) as there were some great bits of information that I would like to get from him.

Spruce will also be hosting an all-day food prep course with Karen Parker in Capitol Hill in May and you can get further info at the Sunraw.com website.
