Guest guest
Nick, Sounds to me like a great time and place to have a gathering. What time were you going to start your picnic? I realize it's probably not originally billed as an exclusively raw picnic (correct?), so I'll indicate that when I put info on RawSeattle.org soon. If anyone is interested in seeing some unusual, practical and inspiring new bike designs (many of them homebuilt) stop on by. Gregg's Aurora Cycle, a few blocks away, will also be having a big demo day showing off many manufacturer's recumbent and tandem designs. If anyone else, like me, considers pedal power to be an important contribution to personal and planetary health this is where you can find bikes that you can really go places on. > > Have a great weekend, whatever you do. > Nick Hein > Renton, WA > > - > Jeff Rogers > RawSeattle@Y... > Friday, April 11, 2003 4:02 PM > Re: [RawSeattle] Who's willing to host a potluck this weekend? > > > If the weather was to cooperate, we could have an informal picnic at > one of Seattle's parks (like Discovery Park) where we could eat, > drink, and be raw! Guest guest
Eric, Sounds good to me too. I plan on getting down there around 10:00 AM for the Seawheels (my recumbent group) to stake out a few tables. I plan on most people showing up around noon and eating around 1:00. I'm having people bring their own meal and serving stuff (plates, forks, spoons, etc) and a dessert to pass. I believe there will be enough tables for both groups. I'll be busy with my biker buddies, so it would be good if someone else would volunteer to be the troopleader for the raw fooders. By the way, there will also be pedal-powered boats, and I'll try to get my PPV working and down there. What's a PPV you ask? See my website.... http://home.attbi.com/~nick.hein/PPV/PPV.htm See you there! Nick PS: Generically, the broad assortment of pedalled vehicles in the Seawheels group are referred to as HPV's or human-powered vehicles. - Eric Scott Farris RawSeattle Friday, April 11, 2003 9:51 PM [RawSeattle] Sunday picnic at Greenlake Nick, Sounds to me like a great time and place to have a gathering.
