Guest guest
It looks like it is a light brown color when raw, although usually harvested while still a little green. It is during the parching process that the color changes to the very dark brown we see. Although, the last website suggests that mature wild rice can be a dark purplee, everything implies that it is harvested when young. http://www.gwrice.com/processed.htm http://www.gibbswildrice.com/whatis/ http://www.newcrops.uq.edu.au/newslett/ncnl1220k.htm
