Good Evening,

A few weeks ago I had posted to the list looking for an eye care specialist that was "focused" on treating vision with corrective exercising rather than corrective lenses. I was referred to one in North Seattle, then by them was referred to one closer (though still pretty far away) in Bellevue. I justed wanted to say that my checkup went fine, although he used the dilating eyedrops which I won't do again. He recommended that I use one of the books for regaining vision and gave me a prescription for 20/40 lenses that would help me with the process. (BTW since I've been on raw food my prescription has stayed the same or improved slightly since the last time I got lenses 5 years ago)

My daughter on the other hand had a remarkable checkup. She has been suffering from headaches at the end of school days from trying to see the board and has been moved to the front of the class. After testing and finding that her acuity was 20/20 it turned out that she has difficulty in focus and alignment. Any other optometrist (honest, that's what it says on his card - not opthamologist) would have given her corrective lenses and this would have allowed the problem to get worse. The treatment program will take 6 months, similar to orthodontics for the eyes (and about as expensive) but will save her ALOT of pain and allow her to function at full capacity. He commended her on being able to keep up with her class saying that a normal child would be several grades behind and in special ed with this kind of a handicap. Once treated he expects her to be capable of reading voraciously like her brother and sister.
