Guest guest
I'm always interested in deals! When the price at PCC for avocados dropped to 2 for $3.00, so too did the size. I noticed that first batch of discounted avos were a bit smaller than the previous batch (I frequently by PCC avos.) I buy some staples at PCC Greenlake and Fremont. Otherwise, I'm gett'n deals at Central Market at Shoreline, 15505 Westminster Way N (155 and Aurora, behind Sears.) I buy 3-pound bags of mixed organic greens ( " spring mix " ) for $9.50-10.50 and occasional cases of fruits. Central gives us cases for a couple bucks over their cost, which is terrific and much better than PCC's 10% discount on cases. I've bought cases of Central's organic avos, tomatoes (large and cherry) mangos, apples, pears, raspberries, strawberries, and coconuts, Then there's the young coconuts (non-organic.) I buy at least one case a week there. Asian markets may be a bit cheaper, but Centals are consistently fresh, without any mold, while one may need to search through those at the Asian markets to find some good ones. Raw organic dates I buy from The Date People (via phone). If they are sold out then I buy from Jaffe Brothers (online.) Cashews I have purchased form Natures First Law (truly raw starting at over $10 per pound with shipping) and at local stores. I have been able to sprout some locally purchased " raw " cashews and I have not noticed any problem eating those I have bought here. Central gave me the best deal when I purchased 30 pounds ($5.50 or so), which is far better than PCC offered.
