Long-anticipated discussion of...NUTRITION!... plus lots more philosophy! ;-)

I'll be Attila-like in expressing my opinions about juicing:

" Why would you want juice?! It's silly! It's not a whole food! The

juice and the fiber go together, should be inseparable, no matter how

many web sites you review for juicer comparisons! Fiber is a

nutrient! When you juice, you refine! Save your money for something

more useful! I can't believe you, Linda! "

That feels kind of weird, but it makes me laugh. I hope others get

laughs from it too.

I do believe that the body kind of " freaks out " on juice. It

definitely freaks out on cooked or animal food, as we know. I did

ask Loren Lockman about the juice subject once. He told me that what

happens in the body is that with juice, the cells are " forced "

(Loren's word) to absorb at extreme levels. It makes sense that the

body will " freak out " like this like it does with other unnatural

foods, because, being unrecognizeable (unrecognizeable because all

living organisms are built to handle untreated, whole foods), the

body doesn't know what to do, and " goes overboard " . This is what

happens in taking drugs as well.

All the nutrition " experts " , even the raw foodist ones like David

Wolfe, the MD/ND Gabriel Cousens, and so on, can overload us with a

ton of complicated details [if we let them :-)], but how can even the

greatest expert know better than Mother Nature? No scientist can

create the life force. The most complicated inventions of humankind

don't hold a candle to nature--the human brain, all the myriad life

forms, solar systems, planetary systems, galaxies, that have come

into existence over eons, etc. I'm a big believer in simplicity and

going with the order the universe runs by. I resonate so strongly

with the in-agreement messages I've heard from Loren, our own Joyce

Divic, Doug Graham, Roz Gruben, when they so sensibly look to the

simplicity of nature--these folks clearly have it together, in my

opinion. We as raw foodists should know that life goes so much

better the more you flow with natural principles. Why get so

complicated, when nature is so simple and natural--nature being

natural, that makes sense. :-)

I guess I'm demonstrating that Attila was right on one point, that

nutrition and philosophy are pretty connected.

In short, no, I haven't heard of the Angel juicer. :-)

Thanks, Eric, for the parody and comments. I wholeheartedly agree, I have

had similar experiences with drinking juice, it just doesn't feel good or

right for my body, so I hardly ever do it anymore. It had its place, when I

was transitioning and even back when I was cooked. But as my body has

recovered more vitality, it is able to let me know with clearer signals what

is good is what is not. I say, juicing is fine for starting out or possibly

in some therapeutic situations (jury's still out on that one, in my mind) but

if you want to continue moving toward optimal health I think it's best to pay

attention to the body's changing signals and leave juicing and other

transitional " foods " behind as you can.
