Guest guest
I just posted info on the website about a potluck I'm planning to host next Sunday, December 15. I wanted to post a note here as well to make sure everyone knows about it. I'll be selling persimmons too. I've got a surplus, and they are ripening faster than I can eat them! I've got maybe a hundred or two that I could sell. The large ones will be $.50 and small $.25. Mostly Hachiya, some Fuyu. Not organic but privately grown and unsprayed. I thought I'd use the proceeds to send some books to the aspiring young raw fooder in Poland whose plea for info was posted here a few weeks ago. He seems very serious about going raw, and has some real challenges like finances and food availability. Not to mention no computer of his own and access to his email account only once per week at a cyber cafe. It seems like a worthwhile endeavor to sponsor his raw education. :-) So, bring your appetite, spare change, a raw dish and a shallow container to transport ripe persimmons in! Also, I have some hanging brochure holders (eye-catchingly and attractively decorated with fruit stickers ) for our RawSeattle flyers that can be posted on bulletin boards at natural food markets and other such venues. My thought was that we could get a few people to hang a holder in the place where they normally shop, and commit to checking frequently to make sure it always has brochures in it. I've got PCC in Kirkland and Issaquah covered. Let me know if you're interested, I'll have them here on Sunday or I can mail them. See you next week!
