Guest guest
I have gone to Google image search and came up with many pictures of sapote. All of which make the fruit look very different from each other. Which are you getting at Whole Foods? Green, purple, rose, red?????? Some look like they have a large pit while others look something like an apple in the middle. I guess I bought one a couple weeks ago and it has been sitting on my window sill. I looked at it today and it had a sprout coming out the top so I cut it in half and tasted it. Nothing, it tasted like absolutely nothing. Hmmmmm....... Maybe I'll make a trip to WF tomorrow and see what the todo is all about with this fruit. Shari

Some look like If you are asking me, the answer is none. I got my sapotes at Central Market. I had to special order the case in advance. They were the green ones. I have not come accross any other colors yet. Niz
Guest guest
Shari, I think these sapotes in Central Market are of one of the white variety. They are small, like a regular plum size, light green and turn yellow when they are ripe. They don't look that great but their white flesh is very sweet and creamy like cherimoya. They are mushy and very crushable and have to be handle with care. They are $3.98/lb in Central Market.
