Guest guest
Good evening, The following message may have nothing to do with raw food, other than " I wonder what they feed these guys?! " I wanted to share with all of you something that happened last week on a lonely stretch of Nevada highway near Battle Mountain. A group of bicyclists on the most streamlined and sophisticated machines ever conceived met to set new speed records for human powered sprints. They were powered entirely by their own hearts, minds and muscles - no drafting or assistance of any kind from motor vehicles. The course was 5-mile sprinting run-up to a 200m timing . About a dozen different riders competed on as many different bikes. You can see more at the following website: http://www.wisil.recumbents.com/wisil/whpsc2002/resultssaturday.htm Here are the results (speed through the 200m trap)... Class Rider Age Speed Junior Men (under 18) Mackie Markham 14 60.75 mph Junior Women Tanya Markham 16 52.295 mph Junior Tandem Mackie and Tanya 53.483 Women Andrea Blasecki 64.74 Men Sam Whittingham 81.00 !!! These miracles of human spirit have been buried under all of the bad news that's been going on, that's why I mention it here (and any other place when I get a chance). I wish you success with your own personal miracles too, whatever they may be. Nick Hein Renton, WA
