Organic vs. Nonorganic...

There's an awesome new book called " Fatal Harvest " . There's a huge coffee table version with incredibly striking photography. This is the most powerful book I've seen since John Robbins'. It totally examines the industrial agriculture business, in which our food is grown in the cheapest possible manner. Whole states are now totally owned by one to three industrial agriculture businesses, polluting the entire land with chemicals that kill, depleting the soil of any nourishment to provide nutrition to the food, and harming local residents and farm workers. The book shows pictures of large ugly commercial farms next to small idyllic organic farms in striking views of the two directions our world is going in.

Its up to us. We MUST support local organic farms. Find them in your area. Buy from your farmers markets. Grow your own food. There is no comparison between a piece of commercially grown produce picked weeks ago and shipped in a diesel truck across the country from land that is farmed by a " farmer " who sits and counts his money in a high-rise in NYC who has never set foot on his farm which is farmed by machines and migrant workers in the cheapest way possible with no nutritional value compared to a lovingly and thoughtfully grown piece of local fresh organic fruit or vegetable consciously cultivated on land that is nurtured with wisdom and respect!
