Hello all,

Thank you for your patience. The time has come for us to put our

heads together and create a fantastic cooperatively run pre-order

food buying club. Be thinking about a name for our new co-op!

Meeting at:

Cascade People' Center

September 26, Thursday

7-9 pm

At this initial meeting, we will discuss what YOU want in your

co-op, and do some creative blending of these thoughts into a

comprehensive plan.

There is a fantastic website that Cheryl Smith, a new member,

brought to my attention. I hope you all get a chance to read it. You

can email the website owner with questions and bring to the

meeting whatever you have learned, along with any thoughts,

questions or concerns.

Visit http://www.Organic-Coop.com/ to learn about a fantastic

automated website ordering system that I propose we strongly

consider using. The owner, Greg, developed the website with

raw foodists in mind! His automated systems simplify the

time-consuming tasks of tallying orders and distributing the

food.

I suggest we keep this simple for the first couple of months, in

order to work out any wrinkles. Perhaps we could agree upon

10-20 raw food items to order in bulk quantities for the first

orders and see how it goes.

Please come to the meeting with:

** Your enthusiasm and creative ideas

** Your willingness to share the workload (light as it is) in a

cooperative community atmosphere

** A list of the " MUST HAVE " items you purchase every week

** A list of the " OCCASIONAL " items you might purchase once a

month

** A list of the " EXTRA " items you might purchase less often than

once a month.

** Your suggestions for a name for our co-op

Needed:

*A possible location to store non-perishable food, such as nuts

and seeds and a method of transporting them to the distribution

site (Cascade People's Center) each week until sold. ..... A

store in somebody's basement or garage--in effect.

* 3-8 pound max scale for produce

* 1-3 pound scale for dry goods

* Containers for each member such as a 20 gallon Rubbermaid

tub w/lid--or large boxes or paper bags

Please RSVP your attendance. Thanks. I've very excited about the

possibilities. I hope you ALL can make it. Please feel free to

invite any and all who might be interested. I'll need a head count

to make sure we have enough chairs. :-) Let's fill the house!

Peace and Blessings,

Linda Reeves
