Guest guest
In an effort to make RawSeattle more accessible (and more " locatable " ) to more people, I would like to create a " business card " with our groups information. The primary piece of information would be our website, so people may learn about the group and find our upcoming events. Right now that and word of mouth are our main way of reaching new people. While we may not be an official non-profit, we are still a group with information to share with interested people. On a business card we should also have an address and phone number for those without internet access and for those needing direct contact with someone. As we do not have an official phone number or address I am addressing the group for assistance here. We may not use the address very often, but should still have one available. I believe a PO Box would be best. Does anyone have a PO Box he/she would like to use for the group and is willing to check periodically, as well as deliver mail to the appropriate people, either directly or through potlucks, etc? Is anyone willing to get a new box specifically for Raw Seattle? Not everyone has access to the internet (even though it was created way-last century!) and we should have a phone # for people to contact us that way. Is anyone willing to use his/her phone as the official phone # for RawSeattle? This may not require much time for the owner of the phone, but may require answering inquiries of people interested in raw foods and directing them to upcoming events and potlucks. As interest in raw foods increases, there will be more inquiries. Perhaps the best idea would be to have two (or three, even) numbers to share the load, and to make it easier for someone to reach a live person instead of a machine. Besides business cards, we would also use the contact information on fliers to be posted at health food stores, etc. There are a lot of people out there who are interested in learning more about this healthy lifestyle. The cards and flyers will help them get the information through us. Once printed, the card would be available for RawSeattle members to carry with them and hand out to interested people. To defray the minor cost of the cards, members could pay the cost of the number of cards they take (a few cents apiece?) or through donations. If you are interested in using your phone # or PO Box for RawSeattle, please reply to this message. Thanks! Jeff
Guest guest
I'm glad to see that you are starting the ball rolling Jeff! Who will be taking on the responsibility of designing the business card? It would be nice for the community to see the graphics/font design of the card prior to publishing it. regards, joyce - Jeff Rogers Sunday, September 01, 2002 10:19 AM RawSeattle [RawSeattle] RawSeattle address/phone # needed In an effort to make RawSeattle more accessible (and more "locatable") to more people, I would like to create a "business card" with our groups information. Guest guest
Actually, I brought several sheets of " Raw Seattle " in dozens of fonts to Saturday's potluck to get some feedback. Last night I designed a card with 6 variations. I found the vertical design offers the best layout. This morning I uploaded the designs to my website. Some of the fonts didn't translate well and the size may have changed a bit (you'll notice they go beyond the border of the card). The black border is only to show the approx. border of the card and won't appear on the card. The wording can be changed. I just wrote it for a sample or starter. If we like it, we can keep it. We can change the wording and layout. I put my PO Box, as no-one else offered one. That can also change. We can put Nora's phone #, unless someone else also offers (we can have more than one!). Feel free to pass on feedback. Jeff http://www.soystache.com/rawseattle.htm >I'm glad to see that you are starting the ball rolling Jeff!
