Guest guest
I just went to Whole Food Market. Peaches from Frog Hollow have arrived. I checked one yellow peach. The Brix level is 14 with fuzzy line, which is good. The nectarine is slightly higher, close to 15, also fuzzy. I boght a white peach( probably not from Frog Hollow) with brix 14 sharp ( means mostly sugar). Peaches and nectarine from Frog Hollow are 3.99/lb. You can get a box of 10 lbs. of them. The grapes in WF seem to be of high brix. They are all over 20 which is EXCELLENT. I haven't been reporting much about brixes because most of the stuff i got have been disappointing, between poor and average. The best brixes I got from the U district farmer's market are from the Lambert cherries from the Razey's organic farm. Bill boasted that his brixes were above 25. I checked them and found them ranging between 18 to 29, which are considerd EXCELLENT. Their booth is on the south side, facing 50th St. Michael and Liza from Lake Chelan had good cherries, brixes also over 20, a week ago but last Saturday they only brought berries, some of them exotic. Razey's is the one Eric bought cases from last year. Their cherries are the best we can find here. I didn't get Rairier because I like red cherries better. I think they must be good. They seem to know what they are doing. Helen
