Guest guest
Greetings! I have good news! This year's EarthSave auction (4/21/02) will include raw products (pRAWducts if you will). Among other fundraising items, we will have a certificate for a case of fresh navel oranges from Hickory Tree Grove (organic), a certificate for a 15 lb box of raw organic dates from The Date People, and a weekend getaway to the Annapurna Retreat and Spa in Port Townsend (raw organic food!)! I almost forgot, The Naughty Vegan is donating 4 pints of Vice Cream. While the flavors are not the raw version, if a raw foodist has the winning bid, I may be persuaded to make some raw pints! To participate in the auction, RSVP with Cafe Ambrosia for the dinner & auction and specify the raw dinner. I plan to attend, so if anyone would care to join me, please let me know and I'll add you to my reservation. Besides food items, there will be lots of other things that can be used by us. Last year I won a gift certificate to a health food store and one to a video store. Please be sure to RSVP early---by Monday, April 15th, so that Cafe Ambrosia has the additional time necessary for getting the raw preparations ready. This is a good cause. EarthSave helps to educate the general public about making dietary changes. Please help support them (and maybe get some cool stuff too!). Jeff (The Naughty Vegan) ______________________ Earth Day 2002 Celebration Dinner and Silent Auction, Sunday, April 21, 5: 30 PM Cafe Ambrosia, 2501 Fairview Ave. E., Seattle EarthSave Seattle will be celebrating Earth Day 2002 by hosting a special dinner and silent auction on Sunday, April 21, between 5:30 and 8:30 PM, at the elegant Cafe Ambrosia. Attend to enjoy an evening of socializing, great food, and the opportunity to bid on a variety of exciting items and services. Auction items will include arts (paintings, professional photography), handicrafts, gift baskets, hotel stays, beauty products, books, food items, gift certificates from restaurants, pet services, and professional consultations (e.g., landscape design, brokerage services, and acupuncture and massage sessions). The event is EarthSave Seattle's main fundraiser of the year, and all net proceeds will go to support local EarthSave programs. The cost is $40 per person ($20 for children six to 12), or $75 per couple, for a four-course, gourmet vegetarian (vegan) dinner. The dinner will also include appetizers courtesy of Lucky Palate and a glass of wine. Reservations are required and may be made in person at Cafe Ambrosia (2501 Fairview Ave. E., Seattle, 206-325-7111) or by mailing a check, along with names of those who will be attending, to EarthSave Seattle (PO Box 9422, Seattle, WA 98109). RSVP's are requested by Wednesday, April 17. Letting friends and acquaintances know about the dinner may be an opportune way to introduce them to delicious vegetarian cuisine in an elegant setting.
