actually, i just got a return ticket for the end of march and i must admit

that i'm not looking forward to the mainland but... i gotta do it so i can get

things in order for the 'great adventure'... (selling out and moving on).

occasionally and it's still looking strong. i'm having a wonderful time here

but i miss the folks and the potlucks.

actually, it's available here also, it's just that i either forage my fruit or

get it at the farmer's markets and since things are seasonal, i'm pretty much

living on oranges, papaya, avo, banana, tomatoes, occasional greens and an

occasional coconut. i found a bunch of sprouted coconuts tonite at my oceanside

campsite, what a treat... i've been staying mostly at forest's place which is

pretty isolated in an area that only gets about 40 " rain annually and that's not

enough to grow much unless you water. tonite i'm camping on the wet side of the

island where it's lush, thick jungle and the food 'grows'. it looks like every

other tree along the roads is a mango but mango season is in the summer <sniff>.

tomorrow, i'm going to a farmers market in the hilo area and should be able to

find something of interest.
