Guest guest
Dear Raw Seattlites, I would like to extend my compliments to Karen Parker for bringing her raw food cuisine to light this past Sunday as well as thank those that were there in support. It is a large task to organize not only the menu for last nights event but also to arrange for all the volunteers who helped make this series more than just another Raw food class. I realize that perhaps people are saturated with raw food prep classes and are comfortable about making their own raw food - I know I am but the THE SUN RAW FOOD CHEF SERIES is a FUNDRAISING affair. I also realize that people can't afford to attend the series but Karen has offered a sliding scale to take care of such concerns. Attending one class is better than none...I'm not trying to be anyone's conscience and this e-mail is not a paid one but I'd like for all of us to perhaps consider the larger picture for a moment. What is this larger picture? It has to do with the raw food movement in general and contributing to the greater collective conscience. This is how we as a community can bring peace and love to the world. Also, the eventual manifestation of Sun Raw can be very beneficial to each of us personally. This will be a place where we can take those family and friends who are interested or skeptical of raw food and let them experience the beauty and power of it. Instead of just talking about raw food and giving people the marketing diatribe, in other words, trying to convince them intellectually...To me the most powerful argument in the raw food movement is not a verbal one at all, but is absolutely and unquestionably in the personal experience of eating raw food! I, for one, am looking forward to taking my skeptical and curious friends to a place where they can experience and appreciate sophisticated raw food cuisine. I would like to call to your attention that the next class in the series also includes a FREE talk. So for those who absolutely cannot afford even one class there is even something for you. Sunshine and warmth to all of YOU! joyce - cloudriver Monday, February 11, 2002 10:34 AM RawSeattle [RawSeattle] My compliments to Sun Raw I feel fortunate to have been led to the Sun Raw web site on Friday (thank you, Mark) so that I could plan to stop at the Vita Bar on my way home from Vancouver BC on Sunday to attend the Italian Feast. Karen did a great job in presenting her class and the food was absolutely delicious! The Lavender Vanilla Kreem Puffs were especially beautiful and will make a special dessert any time! I can see that Sun Raw is going to be a success! I am certainly looking forward to driving up for the next class on the 24th, and hope to see the place packed!Hurray for Karen!Annette
Guest guest
great event, karen, super, and two thumbs up to the registered nutritionists, and hurRAWay for the mob, proper research and communication is greatly needed in this great raw world of ours, eyeopening, warm, objective treatment of the nutrition issue is still way behind the explosive, more passion driven presentation of the subject, and of course the very practical side of it above all, the business of bringing this highest of all humann values , the secret of health and beauty and happiness right to the people, to the neighbourhood, great courage, karen, great work, dear, great place, worth the sweat well toned and spirited environment all afternoon, most inspiring, i apologize for the semiloud and annoying conversation i had with joyce during class, i just love talking to her and being with her, the event stirred up some ad hoc subjects i could't miss discussing with joyce, right there, right then, right? promise, won't happen again... a propos... do you know how many r a w people it takes to change a light bulb ? (this is my very own version) seven; one who replaces the light bulb and the other six, who prepare the food,to celebrate the event... ok? thanks'o'lot , karen, and go,karen, and grow, karen , raw hugs and organic kisses, attila --- Joyce Divic <jdivic wrote: > Dear Raw Seattlites, > > I would like to extend my compliments to Karen > Parker for bringing her > raw food cuisine to light this past Sunday as well > as thank those that > were there in support.
