Guest guest
Please sign and pass along - Thanks, Joe & Shari Thank you in advance for forwarding this petition on to others! We're fighting mad! Right now there are thousands of multi-million-dollar companies advertising junk food to kids barely old enough to talk. It's one thing to advertise junk food to adults who can make intelligent choices based upon their education, knowledge, and experiences. When you go after 4-year-old kids to make a buck, and you bombard them with junk food ads on TV, programming them to reach for a candy bar when they are hungry and a pop when they are thirsty, that's just wrong! What these companies are trying to do is create a customer for life! The proof that this works so well is that we are a nation of junk food addicts! The addicted ones include a lot of people in the Health Care Industry who see the results of this lopsided programming every day! We are supporting a nonprofit campaign called " Take a Fruit Break, " which aims to create and air 30-second TV commercials all over North America that make eating fruit just as seductive as eating junk food! We have tried reaching out to corporations and the media for support for this campaign; so far the main feedback that we get from them is fear. Fear of losing their sponsors, fear of the bottom line, fear of a loss of revenues. On the other side we are getting an overwhelming positive response from parents all over North America and the UK. So we realize that this is going to have to be a grass-roots campaign and we are now reaching out to people through the Internet. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS CAMPAIGN REACH CRITICAL MASS. Here's how we can work together to help improve the lives of today's kids: 1.) Sign this petition by adding your name, city and state/province to the bottom of this list. If you are the 200th person to add your name, please forward this email back to info . This petition will be presented to Corporate Executives in the Food and Media Industries to show them that it is good business to promote healthy food products to children. What we're telling them with this petition is that people are concerned about the way they are doing business. 2.) Visit http://www.takeafruitbreak.com to learn more about what you can do to help. 3.) Forward this email on to your email contacts!
