Guest guest Posted December 11, 2001 Report Share Posted December 11, 2001 EarthSave Seattle's next monthly potluck will be held on Thursday, December 13, starting at 6:30 pm at Seattle Unity Church (200 8th Ave. N. -- at the intersection of 8th Ave. N. and John St., across the street from Denny Park). The potluck will feature an invited talk by well-known author and nutrition consultant, Vesanto Melina, M.S., R.D. The topic of her not-to-miss talk is " How Vegetarians Usually Blow it -- and How Not To. " She will present the benefits of a plant-based diet, talk about ways in which to make a healthy, successful transition, and also address some possible missteps. Copies of her book " Becoming Vegan " will be on sale ($16, plus tax), along with informative and attractive posters of a veg. food guide (in two different sizes, for $2 and $5 respectively). All EarthSave Seattle potlucks are free and open to members and their guests. You may bring your own plate, cup, and utensils. In consideration of people with food allergies or dietary restrictions, please label ALL ingredients. (No flesh foods, please.)
