Maintenance Coordinator

Position Summary:

This is a position with critical responsibilities requiring a high level of

technical skill and the ability to independently organize and direct

maintenance activities for all facilities owned and used by the Tree of

Life.

 

Responsibilities:

1. In conjunction with the management team, plan, organize and direct

routine and non-routine maintenance activities and facility construction,

repair and remodel projects.

 

2. Coordinate the activities of other maintenance staff and facility project

volunteers in order to accomplish maintenance and facility project tasks

effectively and efficiently. Provide feedback on maintenance staff

performance.

 

3. Perform maintenance and facility project tasks independently, proactively

and with a high degree of technical skill, including but not limited to,

carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, roofing, laying

cement, grounds maintenance.

 

4.Maintain our reverse osmosis water filtration system and water storage

facility. Maintain our natural sewage system.

 

Qualifications:

1. An understanding of, and a heart-felt affinity for, the mission of the

Tree of Life. An intention to live a life grounded in spiritual awareness

and practice. A desire to live in a community of like-minded people.

 

2.Positive, professional attitude, demeanor and behavior at all times.

 

3.Proven experience in all aspects of facility construction, repair, remodel

and maintenance. Prefer experience with using earth-friendly, alternative

building materials and methods.

 

4.Prefer vocational/academic training in construction trades and facility

management.

 

5.Prefer experience supervising/coordinating the work of others.

3.In addition to salary, Spartan staff housing may be available, although

support for housing in town is preferable. Other benefits include all
