Guest guest
My Wish by Michael Harris All the fast food places on every corner All of the little corner stores that smell of chemical cleaner All of the dry cleaners and 7-11's All of the chain restaurants All of the diners All of the cigarette machines and gas stations All of the livestock in the factory farms All of the pesticide rich fields of GMO grain and corn All of the meat shops and tainted garbage heaps All of the supermarket aisles with 90 percent refined products All of the cocktail parties and the tons of wasted food All of the corporate buildings sucking up our resources for profit All of the huge empty houses being heated without anyone living there All of the school cafeterias All of the rest stops along the way littering the landscape with corporate logos First they became invisible. We hardly even noticed them. They faded into the landscape as we realized the beauty of life. Then everything became green. Everything became life giving. Everything became natural. It happened quickly in retrospect. Suddenly, the fast food joints became places to buy local organic foods. They were affordable because they were subsidized by health organizations and community groups. The server at the Diner always offered kale juice instead of coffee. Animals were treated humanely. Everyone brought healthy food to parties. Leftovers were carefully saved to feed the poor. All the fields were used to grow organic produce. Trees were planted where corporations once stood. All of this had an immediate effect on the world. Farmers and consumers all over the world worked together. Everyone lived their authentic lives. Families grew stronger and education flourished. Creativity was abundant. It's important to understand the possibility of right now. Businesses come and go all the time. A Roy Rogers today is a Jewelry Store next week. It happens in the blink of an eye. Who's to say that my wish is just wishful thinking. Dream it. Believe it. Transformation happens everyday as the sun comes up scattering the darkness with its warm light. Then it happens again at night with the glow of the moon lifting the waters of the ocean and allowing the plants to cool off and rest. The sun and the moon continue even as we sleep In the blink of an eye, the plants grow and flower. Rebirth and transformation is always possible. Love to you all. ~Michael
