New and Improved!

 

The beginning of the New Year is the perfect time to make

changes for a higher goal. In November, Dru Banks a food and

Safety professor/instructor from the U of I gave us some

startling insights on food safety. As a result of this

presentation we have decided to improve the way food will be

handled at our monthly raw events.

 

New format; we will continue to have speakers and food

demonstrations, however we will no longer have potlucks (at

least for a while).

 

This month chef Ntombikhaya will prepare a soul food dinner.

The menu includes:

chicken (vegan), potato salad, greens, cole slaw, sweet potato

pie, and more. She will demonstrate a blended fruit drink and

potato salad.

 

The benefits from a format of this type are:

? Recipes will be shared for every dish.

? Food safety/sanitation will be a high priority

? There will be plenty of food for everyone

 

Any persons who have taken a food safety class in the past year

is welcome to bring a dish. Please contact us first. Stay

tuned for the announcement of Dru?s 4 hour food sanitation

class that she has set up specifically for members of Make Mine

Raw. The class will be held some time in March.
